Age Is Just a Number
Cheers to 29π»
I've wanted to write this blog post for a while and thought today was a good day for it. Let's back up a bit.
I was probably 22 years old when during a brow treatment, a client - let's call her Mary - started telling me about her 22-year-old daughter: 'I think she does drugs, always causes problems, her boyfriend is terrible to her.. Anyway, she's very immature, how old are you, Alexandra? I'm sure even a few years make a change.'
I froze. I froze because I was the same age as her daughter. What did my soft self say? I said 26..π and regreted it quickly right after.. that '26' followed me for years. I could not wait to turn 26 years old. Everytime my age came up during a treatment, I'd be 26. I didn't know how to lie so I had these scenarios in my head that all my clients were relatives of Mary. π€£
Anyway, to this day, after hundreds of yearly treatments I do in permanent makeup, I still have clients who come to get serviced and examine me from head to toe probably thinking I look too young to work on their brows.π
Today though I choose to embrace my 29 (and 10% wish it was 26.)
Someone's age doesn't always influence their experience or talent in an industry.
I've had in the same permanent makeup class a woman in her 70s and a 19 year old π€·ββοΈsame experience you could say.
Let's give people a fair chance no matter their age.
I'll end this here so I can go put some retinol on and book a botox appointment so I can get that 26 back haha. Hugs to everyone β‘
